České Budějovice received the title of European Capital of Culture 2028. To ensure its successful implementation, the city established a registered institute, which is looking for an executive director for the following years.
In support of Ukrainian culture EcocNews has launched a petition for one of the three European Capitals of Culture to be chosen in 2030. We have reached over 300 signatures, but the petition is still open and can be found here. Another even more important initiative in support of Ukrainian culture is ZMINA: Rebuilding.

Their vision is to use arts and culture to fuel the social, economic and creative renaissance of their district; to make Bradford one of the most welcoming places in the UK where artists, producers, audiences and creative entrepreneurs can flourish. Bradford 2025 is looking for a head of audience to contribute to strategic plans for Bradford 2025 to develop and grow audiences across the Bradford district, nationally and internationally as well as develop and communicate the brand, their values and attract visitors both online and in person.

Bodo 2024 is looking for a composer/musical director who, together with a creative team, will work on a fantastic midsummer event in June 2024. The midsummer event will be one of the highlights of the programme for Bodø2024 European Capital of Culture.
In 2031 it will be the turn of Spain and Malta to nominate the European capital of culture. For Spain it will be the fifth time after Madrid (1992), Santiago de Compostela (2000), Salamanca (2002) and San sebastian (2016). One of the first city to have decided to apply for European capital of culture for 2031 is Burgos with its motto: Renaissance.
The call for cultural projects of Burgos European Capital of Culture 2031 has closed with a broad participation of the local artistic network, which has presented 34 proposals that bring together creators from 14 European countries.
The European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 will be opened from 19 to 21 January 2024. For this opening, an art film project is being tendered, which will be part of the celebrations and ceremony on 20 January 2024.

Bodø2024 and Sparebank1 Nord-Norge Samfunnsløftet announce funds for the project European Cabins of Culture, which is part of the programme for Bodø2024. Bodø and the county of Nordland are European Capital of Culture in 2024. They want to fill tourist cabins and other hiking destinations with artistic and cultural content.
